Getting Started
- Choose “Video Practice” or “Music Practice” on the home screen.
- Select a practice file from Photos, your video or music library, or the system file picker.
- Use Play, the timeline, speed controls, and skip controls while practicing.
- Video controls hide automatically during playback. Tap the screen to show them again.
If a Video Does Not Play
- The selectable formats are MP4, MOV, M4V, and WebM. Playback still depends on whether your device supports the video and audio codecs inside the file.
- The Android file picker currently filters for MP4 files. You can also try selecting the video from your photo or video library.
- A video stored only in iCloud or another cloud service may need time to download. Download it to your device and select it again.
- Check whether the video plays in your device’s standard photo or video app.
- Close and reopen Kotora Dance Player, then select the video again.
If You Denied Media Access
iPhone
Open Settings, select Kotora Dance Player, and allow access to Photos. If you prefer not to grant photo access, select a video with the system file picker instead.
Android
If you denied access to the music list, open Settings → Apps → Kotora Dance Player → Permissions and allow Music and audio access. You can also select a file through “Files.” Menu names vary by device and Android version.
If You Cannot Hear Audio
- Check that Mute is off and the volume is above zero on the video screen.
- Check the device media volume and the selected Bluetooth audio output.
- Confirm that the source video contains audio by playing it in the device’s standard app.
- If another app is using audio, stop that app and try again.
- Music Practice is configured to play even when an iPhone is in Silent mode.
Rotation, Speed, and Skipping
- Rotation: Each press changes the angle from 0° to 90°, 180°, 270°, and back to 0°.
- Speed: Choose 0.50x–2.00x from the video speed menu. Use the music slider to adjust within the same range.
- Skipping: Jump by −10, −5, +10, or +30 seconds. Video Practice also supports stepping one frame backward or forward.
Supported Formats
These are the formats the app allows you to select. Actual playback also depends on codec support provided by your device.
